Alzheimer & Dementia Program: Compassionate Memory Care That Honors Every Individual
Saint Francis Alzheimer’s/Dementia Program provides a safe, supportive, and dignified environment designed specifically for individuals living with memory loss. Our community features two state certified DSCU Alzheimer/Dementia Units, each offering 17 beds and a 16 bed, non-certified, Men’s unit - honoring our Veterans. This creates small, homelike settings that allow for highly personalized attention and meaningful daily interaction. Our specialized care team delivers person-centered support focused on preserving independence, enhancing comfort, and nurturing emotional well-being. With structured routines, purposeful engagement activities, and spaces designed to promote safety and familiarity, we honor each resident’s life story while ensuring they receive compassionate, respectful care throughout their journey.
Lighthouse Program
Following the national Alzheimers Associations recommendations, Saint Francis offers the Lighthouse Program. Our residents on our Lighthouse Neighborhoods are our greatest assets. They have lived active, engaged lives and now require our assistance. This is a guide to provide you with some best practice tips to help them throughout the day. There is an art to caring for individuals with dementia. What worked yesterday may not work today but might work tomorrow. These tips are a great starting point to assist you with understanding the unique challenges our residents face. It is very important to remember that while some of the actions we see in our residents can be childlike, they are not children. They are grown adults who have had families, jobs, joys, and sorrows.
